PDF to Audio
Extract readable PDF paragraphs, optionally recognize scanned pages locally, and listen through a voice explicitly reported by the browser as local. Control voice and speed in the current tab. This tool does not upload text and does not pretend that browser speech can create a downloadable audio file.

Listen in this browser: PaperZero extracts reading text locally and uses the browser's installed SpeechSynthesis voices. Browsers do not expose the synthesized PCM as a reliable audio Blob, so this route intentionally offers no fake MP3/WAV download.

How it works
- 1Open a PDF, choose pages and reading order, and optionally recognize scans locally.
- 2Review the reconstructed text before it is spoken.
- 3Choose a voice that the browser explicitly marks as local and set playback speed.
- 4Play, pause, resume, or stop speech in the current tab; no audio file is generated.
Your privacy
This tool runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and Web Workers. Your document is never uploaded to any server — you can even disconnect from the internet and keep working once the page has loaded.
Frequently asked questions
▸Can I download an MP3?
No. The browser SpeechSynthesis API provides playback, not a trustworthy local audio encoder, so this tool makes no downloadable-audio claim.
▸Why are no voices available?
PaperZero only lists voices the browser marks as local. If none are exposed, the extracted text remains available to read but is not sent to an online voice.
▸Does my document text leave the browser?
No. Extraction and optional OCR are local, and voices not explicitly marked local are excluded from playback.
